True North Retirement Counsel is a full service financial planning firm specializing in helping Canadians make a successful life transition from work to retirement. When it comes to your retirement, we believe that whatever your dreams are, we can create a plan to help put them into action. Our motto is: Dream it. Plan it. Live it!

We work with a select group of clients one on one, taking them through our unique retirement planning process – The Fearless Retirement Blueprint™. Our first priority is to help you understand and articulate the vision you have for your future. Once we have a shared understanding of what motivates you, and the things you want to do in this next stage of life, we’ll work to get a full understanding of your financial situation. Only then can we start to craft a plan designed to best utilize the financial resources you have available for your future.

Planning is our passion and we work hard every day to bring your dreams to life. But it doesn’t end there. Putting your plans into action is a key step to ensuring success. Your fully customized retirement plan will include specific recommendations that must be implemented. You’re free to do this with us and we’d be delighted to work with you to that end. However, you’re under no obligation to do so.

If you choose to work with us in the implementation phase, we are fully licensed to offer a wide range of competitive investment and insurance solutions. Such products and services will be provided under separate agreement. Investment services are provided through our IIROC registered investment dealer – Aligned Capital Partners Inc.

Our Team

When it comes to working with a financial planning firm, we believe the following…

That everyone deserves “professional” financial advice, and while it may come at a cost it’s well worth the investment.

That everyone should have a written financial plan.

That you really can “define your own future” and live the dream retirement you’ve been nurturing for years.  It requires effort on your part, a vision of what you really want to do, and finding the right advisor to help.

That retirement income planning isn’t rocket science, but it does require specialized knowledge from a dedicated professional advisor but not all advisors have this knowledge.

That there are certain “Key Risks” that you must navigate in order to make a successful transition to retirement.

That one of these risks is “Financial Advisor Risk”. The reality is – there are people out there who want to separate you from your money.  And then there are those advisors who simply don’t specialize in the kind of planning you need.

That there is a way to differentiate between the good and bad advisors, so you can eliminate this risk.

That a successful retirement starts with a clear vision of what you want in life.
